As I think through my learning style, I am very much a visual/kinaesthetic learner. I like to watch it done, replicated it and then do it on my own. For my type of learning style I think the following technologies would help:
For someone with a different learning style such as auditory:
- Video explanation of the project that I can follow along with, pause, and repeat.
- Meeting face to face in an online environment in order to have discussions rather than just watching a lecture.
- Project based learning where I am challenged to create rather than a paper or traditional test.
- When the content being learned has a practical application to my work that I can use right away.
For someone with a different learning style such as auditory:
- Podcasts- students can listen to information or create podcast presentations
- Audiobooks rather than online text that has to be read.
- VoiceThread- This allows the auditory learners to simply listen and share their thoughts using a mic rather than a video presentation.
- Video lectures are recorded so students can pause, go back, and listen again.
